Welcome to Mission Valley Elementary, one of 28 elementary schools within the Fremont Unified School District. Located on the southeast side of San Francisco Bay in the beautiful city of Fremont we are between San Jose and Oakland in Alameda County. Benefitting from a moderate climate numerous recreational opportunities abound. We are in close proximity to many universities and BART.
Our school population of over 750 enjoys class sizes of a student teacher ratio of 28:1. We are proud of our rich ethnic diversity and vital, involved parental base; more than half of households have an adult whom has attended graduate school. Mission Valley rated the highest ranking, a ten out of ten, for API scores in 2008. For the latest statistics, visit the State of California site.
Mission Valley’s API score places it in the upper echelon of all schools, and in 2007 we were honored to have been named an honor roll school. We are blessed, and dedicated to preserving our uniqueness through providing instructionally sound lessons that inspire and inform.
In 2010 we were named a “California Distinguished School” for recognition of our academic excellence and narrowed achievement gaps. Our school was chosen because of “signature practices” that led to improved test scores and helped lessen differences between higher- and lower-performing students.
